SHELF LIFE:
- • 250ml single cartridge 9 months
- • 50, 200, 400, 1500ml dual cartridge 12 months
STABILITY:
This polymer technology needs to be stored between 42°F - 80°F. Storage below or above these temperatures will diminish the ultimate use of the product. Shelf Life can be extended by storing between 45°- 55°F.
Cold Temperature Storage:
If the adhesive is stored below 55°F you must bring the adhesive back to room temperature for at least 24 hours before using. Storing below 55°F will cause the material to thicken and the mix ratio to be off; therefore the adhesive will not mix or adhere properly.
Frozen Product:
DO NOT allow TrimBonder™ to freeze! If the TrimBonder™ adhesive freezes you must keep the cartridge at room temperature (72°F) for at least 36 hours. This is needed to ensure all reactive agents can react properly during mixing, and give you the correct open, fixture time and functional cure.
Once the adhesive is brought back to room temperature; attach the mix nozzle and burp the cartridge before using. Extrude a small amount to test the following characteristics:
1. Proper color of adhesive and activator [white and amber]
2. Working time: 5-8 minutes [If the working time is longer than stated, the product may not have been at room temperature long enough. Wait and test again.]
3. Fixture Time: 18-20 minutes [If you apply force to the boards you bonded together and they break easily the material is not ready. Wait and test again.]
NOTE: Repeatedly freezing and thawing TrimBonder™ adhesive is not recommended; this will shorten the shelf life of the product and not guarantee its strength.
Warm/Hot Temperature Storage:
TrimBonder™ adhesive stored above 80°F for long periods of time will diminish the shelf life dramatically. Once extruded you may find the following characteristics:
- • The working time will increase 10-15%.
- • Product viscosity will thicken and the color darkens.
- • Mixing will be difficult.
- • Final strengths will be lower than stated on TDS.
- • Storage above 98°F for over 10 days will cause TrimBonder™ adhesive not to cure at all.
